Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon was arrested today by FBI agents for alleged violations of federal public corruption laws.

The federal criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court, charged Cannon with theft and bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds, honest services wire fraud and extortion under color of official right.

Former Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith surprised a young fan on “Good Morning America” Thursday.

Seven-year-old Gavin Simone became a YouTube sensation when his father posted a video of him crying after news broke that Smith was going to be released by the Panthers.
